3 ways to prepare for the day

Don't be a snoozer. Wake up and refresh your mindset before taking on the day.

Welcome! Do you constantly wake up angry or frustrated? Do you dread getting up and starting the day? I completely feel you. I started implementing the following 3 steps into my morning routine and it has helped me tremendously.

Skip the electronics

“Plan to do something else.” ~Forbes

Do you have the habit of grabbing your phone as soon as you wake up, like me? Guilty! I find that I end up wasting precious time and getting frustrated with something on social media and that my friends are what will set my tone for the day. So...I started taking control of how my day starts, by skipping the scroll until after I have prepared myself for the day. Forbes has a good article on what to do instead of reading emails or browsing social media. Check it out here.

Does anyone have a set day or time that you and your family disconnect from electronics?

Shower or wash your face

In my opinion, there is nothing more refreshing than a clean face. Throw a shower fizzy in the bottom of the shower and get lost for a few minutes before rushing out to start your day. My favorite is from Buff City Soap. Check them out here.

Dr. Teal's bubble bath and salts are my other go-to that can be picked up at your local Wal-Mart, Target, or drug store.

Get Inspired

Positive anything is better than negative nothing." ~Elbert Hubbard.

Listen to music, a podcast, audiobook, or read something that will inspire and motivate you. Consider #meditation in the morning or using #affirmations to prepare you for the day even when you are not ready for the day. I enjoy a good jam sesh, even if it's in my car. It sets the tone for the day.
